Flexible Homemade Pizza

This recipe is a general cooking guide. Ingredient brands, appliances and food-safety requirements vary by country; follow local guidance and ensure food is cooked safely.

Ingredients

  • 500 g bread flour
  • 7 g instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 325 ml warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 200 g tomato sauce
  • 250 g mozzarella
  • Toppings of choice

Method

  1. Mix flour, yeast and salt. Add water and oil and knead until smooth.
  2. Cover and rise until doubled, about 60 minutes.
  3. Heat oven as high as practical with a tray or stone inside.
  4. Stretch dough, add a thin layer of sauce, cheese and toppings.
  5. Bake until the crust is deeply golden and crisp.
Useful tip: Less topping usually produces a crisper, better-balanced pizza.
